The RROK Innovation & Creativity Workshop…
Stationary Targets are the Easiest to Hit…!
Increasingly, we need to not only adapt to change but lead, innovate, and drive change in order to stay relevant…
But how do we do it, and what are the obstacles…?
We’ve put together a brand new workshop – designed in Two Halves – that will give you the Ideas, Principles, and Tactics you need to Innovate and Create toward your best profitable future…
All of us need to differentiate ourselves in our chosen markets, through service, product, and technology innovation – too many companies ignore these opportunities and instead rely on what worked 20 years ago…
We’ve always done it this way…
Will be the all-to-common epitaph on the headstone of otherwise brilliant companies…
So what does the day look like..?
First Half…
Innovation Principles and Tactics…
Bring together the proven methods of Innovation from the Incubators of Luxembourg to the Investors of Silicon Valley we’ll be learning about;
-
The Innovation Wheel – different types of Innovation…
-
How to build a strategy for your Business…
-
Communication and Leadership…
-
Creating your Innovation Plan…
-
Exploring Risk and the Innovation Mindset…
There will be a session before lunch where you’ll be invited to break into groups to explore innovative ideas, share experiences, and discover what you can use and learn from other sectors to help you with your own Innovation activity…
Lunch…
As always there’ll be a buffet-style restaurant lunch, offering a full range of healthy – and maybe not so healthy – options all prepared fresh on-site by the chefs at Lilleshall, so you’ll be eating the same as the Elite Athletes and Military that train there…
Second Half…
Creativity and Free Thinking…
We are collaborating with Dr Karin Petrini from the University of Bath in the UK, and using some of her research as the basis for the afternoon session, which is guaranteed to be high energy and fun…
You can watch the recent Podcast Recording where I speak with Karin about her work, experience, and the results she has achieved through her studies – see below…
Dr. Petrini’s research has shown there is a range of cognitive benefits to be derived from the playing of percussion instruments. Namely the Piano and Drums – so get prepared for a noisy afternoon…
During the afternoon, we’ll be exploring creativity, looking at examples from history and business, and evaluating the mindset that empowers us to be creative and the attitudes that prevent it.
Then, we’ll be learning about the benefits to our mental health, stress levels, and cognitive abilities that playing the drums can deliver – and how working in a group, creativity, and ideation can be accelerated…
I’ll be teaching you a few rudiments of percussion, then we’ll be putting you into teams with a range of things to make a noise and you’ll be co-creating a rhythm all of your own – you’ll be amazed at what you can create…
The afternoon will include…
-
Why we avoid creativity and what to do about it…
-
Examples of brilliant ideas from history…
-
Team exercise and competition…
-
Drums and percussion to aid free thinking…
-
Teamwork to build a unique rhythm…
As someone quite monotone I struggled with the concept of being creative, especially around other people. But this session was brilliant, it pushed me out of my comfort zone, allowed me to be expressive and as a result, open my mind to new possibilities. As a team, we all spoke afterward and commented on how much closer we felt and how great it was to bond. I would recommend this to anyone of any level in the business…!
